The Fort Frances Pharmasave Wildcats Midget girls’ hockey team played the International Falls girls’ junior varsity squad there Friday night.
Despite being out-shot 35-19, the Wildcats managed to earn a 3-3 tie.
Mackenzie Paxson was awesome between the pipes while Shawnee Morrisseau, Nicole Beadle, and Cassie McLellan were the goal scorers.
After the Falls jumped ahead 1-0, Morrisseau knotted the game at 8:08 of the first period.
The Wildcats then went up 2-1 at 16:36 of the second on Beadle’s goal.
The Falls tied the score at 14:18 of the third, but McLellan then netted the go-ahead goal at 12:53.
But the Falls battled back for a second time, scoring at 7:45 of the third to make the final score 3-3.
