The Emo Selects scored three first-period goals and never looked back en route to a 6-1 victory over International Falls in Atom action.
Six different players shared in the scoring for the Selects—Sean Rea, Josh Swire, Dennis Mutz, Jake Gill, Dylan McGinnis, and Ryan Mutz.
The Falls tallied their marker halfway through the third period.
Meanwhile, the Emo Novice OPP split their two contest, defeating taggs (Fort Frances) 3-0 on goals by Tyler Kinnear (two) and Chris Strachan.
But then against the Foodtown Fury (Fort Frances), Emo fell 3-1. Boyd Badiuk (two) and Matt Plante tallied for the Fury while Kinnear replied for OPP.
The Emo Wings had better luck, besting West End Motors (Fort Frances) 3-1 on goals by Richard Wierlinga, Maverick Judson and Brock Benjamin gave Wings the win.
Brandon Roden spoiled Emo’s shutout bid.
Emo PeeWee Panthers also had a good week, first shutting out the Colonels (Fort Frances) 1-0 on Vaughan Wilson’s second-period goal.
Then against the Lions (Fort Frances), a last-minute goal by Chris Christian earned a 4-4 tie. Jeremy Wilson, Luke Leimenstoll, and Mike Brunetta also scored for the Lions while Jeremy Hyatt (two), Jenn Caul, and Wilson replied for Emo.
The Emo Gillon Hawks also saw a win slip away with a last-minute goal. Tristyn Rose got the tying tally, his second of the game, as the Law Association (Fort Frances) salvaged a 3-3 tie.
Scott Grynol also scored for the Fort, with Shawn Makinson, Jon Kinnear, and Kyle McTavish netting Emo’s goals.
Then the Panthers, playing their second game against the Colonels, were lucky to escape with a 2-2 deadlock. Jeff LaFleur and Eric Mosbeck scored for Emo while DeBenedet and K. Martin answered for the Fort.
Finally, the Emo Midget Blues did not sing the blues over the past week. First, they scored a 1-0 victory over Rainy River on Gary Foster’s second-period goal.
Then after taking a 1-0 first-period lead on a goal by Bob Curtis, Dallas Mosbeck scored for the BoMacs (Fort Frances) in the second to make it 1-1, which held up through a scoreless third.
Their third game against the Legion (Fort Frances) saw the Blues score three first-period tallies en route to a 6-1 win.
Allan Oltsher led the way with a pair of goals while Adam McTavish, Jessie Wilson, Jason Mann, and Bill Mann added singles.
Lucas Cawston scored the Legion’s lone goal.
