Minor hockey camps on tap


The Hockey Canada Skills Development Camp for Atom and PeeWee players will take placeå here this Saturday (Sept. 27).

The camp will run from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at the Memorial Sports Centre, and is limited to the first 72 players to register from the Atom and PeeWee levels.

It will focus on fundamental skills while providing a fun environment for players to meet others and learn the concepts of fair play, safety, teamwork, and overall fitness.

The cost to attend normally is $60, but Fort Frances Minor Hockey Association players are getting a discounted rate of $20 for the day-long session.

Qualified instructors from Hockey Canada and the regional branch will be on hand to ensure the best quality of instruction.

In related news, a PeeWee body-checking clinic will take place Saturday from 6-9:15 p.m. It is a mandatory clinic that needs to be completed by PeeWee players and coaches.
