Locals advance in YBC roll-offs

On Sunday, 22 teams consisting of a YBC bowler and their parent/guardian rolled off to represent Fort Frances in Atikokan on Nov. 16.

Advancing in the various age brackets were Mya Guenette and Norm Guenette (Bowlasaurus), Jonelle Haas and Teressa Darrah (Bantam), Amber Townson and Tim Chabot (Junior), Caitlyn Townson and Bob Petawanaqueb (Senior).

Meanwhile, 10 youngsters from Fort Frances competed against 14 other area bowlers back on Oct. 19 for spots on the Sunset Country boys’, girls’, and mixed teams that will compete at the provincial roll-offs in Timmins in December.

Tylyn Silander made the girls’ team while Natasha Petawanaqueb will suit up for the mixed squad. The boys’ squad will feature locals Lyle Dolph, Tyler Good, Travis Bois, and Donny Brown.
