Balmy late-September weather greeted 60 golfers for the annual club championship at Kitchen Creek on Sunday.
Krista Ballard took the ladies’ crown with a 99, followed by Michelle Poirer in second place with a 106 (a net 75 based on her handicap). Joanne Gosselin finished third with a 112 (net 75) while Sandra Gosselin was fourth with a 105 (net 76).
In the men’s division, Gerry Hercun shot a scorching 71 to take top honours while Rob Crowe was the runner-up with a 72. Ian McLennan was awarded third with a 79 (factored down to a 71 based on handicap).
On the junior side, Alex McDonald led the way with a 76, Kevin Jackson shot an 87, and Josh Cousineau carded a 134.
In the senior division, Terry Martinson shot a 76 (net 70) to win while Steve Kosowick and Art Carpenter both carded 79s (Kosowick was awarded second place due to having a higher handicap).
Finally, the Masters (60+) division saw Merdo Krawchuk fire an 80 (net 69) to win, followed by Al Heskins with a 97 (69) and Clyde Ditmars at 95 (78).
Golfers were treated to a full-course meal and in-house prize draws, including a diamond ring from Brockie’s Jewellers, a fishing rod and weed-eater from Badiuk Equipment, and gift certificates to Taggs and McTaggarts.
Money raised from ticket sales for the draws go directly to the club for use on improving cart paths around the course.
