A great time was had by skiers old and new on Boxing Day during a family day hosted by the Rainy Lake Nordic Ski Club at the Rocky Inlet trails.
Dr. Cam Moorhouse helped new skiers get on the trails with help on ski sizing and waxing, and then even offered a few welcome pointers on the trails.
Club president Jim Krag and his wife, Kris, also held a waxing clinic while keeping everyone warm with fresh wood on the bonfire and hot chocolate.
Trail conditions were great and there was plenty of talk of more outings to follow.
In related news, Maria Sanders said the club would be holding its annual candlelight ski again this winter as well as the second-annual Rocky Cup Race.
