Poker champ to move out

TORONTO—Recent biochemistry graduate Poorya Nazari isn’t too worried about landing a job in today’s tough market.

The Toronto-area man knows how to play poker.

The 22-year-old recently returned home from a trip to the Bahamas $3 million (U.S.) richer.

He spent about $700 to gain entry into the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure and his investment paid off big.

Nazari, who graduated last month from Hamilton’s McMaster University, said it wasn’t until the last day of the tournament that he began to think he could truly win the multi-million dollar prize.

His victory also gives him a spot at another potentially huge payday at a tournament in Monte Carlo in April.

Previously, his biggest win was $80,000.

Nazari still lives at home with his parents in Richmond Hill, Ont., but plans on getting his own place very soon.
