No new fires here

No new fires were reported in the Northwest Region over the weekend, leaving just three blazes on the “active” list.
Red Lake Fire #11 is burning in the remote northern sectors of Red Lake District. It is being observed through aerial reconnaissance, with the most recent patrol placing the fire at an estimated size of 1,400 hectares.
Sioux Lookout Fire #11, near the community of Savant Lake, has been dormant for a number of weeks now.
Patrols and scans indicated the 16,702-ha blaze, which is classed as “under control,” is quiet.
And Nipigon Fire #40 is a 55-ha, lightning-caused fire that is classed as “under control.”
Recent scans had shown some smouldering hot spots on the fire, but rain is forecast for this area.
The region is to remain cloudy, with showers and thunderstorms, as a weather system remains entrenched over the Northwest Region.
Temperatures are forecast to rise above seasonal numbers, with increasing winds, which is expected to remain in place until at least Wednesday.
It is expected to begin partial clearing on Thursday.
A number of Ontario fire suppression and support staff, plus equipment and aircraft resources, remain in Quebec, assisting that province with an ongoing forest fire situation.
The Northwest Region has seen a total of 196 fires, consuming 32,417.6 ha, since the fire season began April 1.
