The Fort Frances Chamber of Commerce has confirmed it will host an all-candidates’ forum on Tuesday, Sept. 30 from 7-9 p.m. at the Civic Centre.
Similar to the forum held prior to the 2006 federal election, the candidates will be invited to discuss their priorities, campaigns, and policies, as well as answer questions based on topics generated by the Chamber membership and posed by local media representative.
Televised coverage of the forum by Shaw Cable (Channel 10) has yet to be confirmed.
In other news, the local Elections Canada office has been set up at 242 Scott St. It is open Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.-9 p.m., Saturdays from 9 a.m.-6 p.m., and Sundays from noon-4 p.m.

Special ballots are available at the local office until six days before the Oct. 14 election.
Advanced polls will be held Oct. 3, 4, and 6, from noon-8 p.m. at the Election Canada office, the Memorial Sports Centre in Fort Frances, and the community recreation centre in Rainy River.
The additional assistant returning officer is Ruby E. Douglass.
Liberal incumbent Ken Boshcoff’s campaign office is located at 271 Scott St., Conservative candidate Richard Neumann is set up at 850 King’s Highway (across from McDonald’s), and NDP candidate John Rafferty is at 517 Mowat Ave.
Green candidate Russ Aegard does not have a local campaign office set up.
