District businesses will be in the limelight tomorrow night (Nov. 8) at La Place Rendez-Vous for the Fort Frances Chamber of Commerce’s 13th-annual business awards, presented by Bell.
Chamber president Christine Denby said she‘s once again looking forward to the event.
“I think the business awards are a wonderful opportunity for Fort Frances and district to give individuals and businesses that pat on the back for a job well-done,” she remarked.
The Chamber ended up with 86 nominations listing 74 different nominees this year. Some were nominated for multiple awards or multiple times in one category.
“Nominations are received, with the submissions reviewed by volunteer judges who then decide on the winners,” noted Denby.
“It sounds clichéd, but I truly believe that every nominee is a winner in being recognized for their contributions to the community,” she added.
Chamber office manager Dawn Booth noted yesterday that tickets are still available ofr the gala and that people should not wait until the last minute to get theirs.
Everyone, not just Chamber members and the nominees themselves, are welcome to attend.
To order tickets, call 274-5773. They cost $45/person for Chamber members and $50 for non-members (buy a table of eight and get a 10 percent discount).
Cocktails are at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:30. Jackie Lampi-Hughes will be the emcee. There also will be entertainment by Fort Frances Little Theatre.
