Muskie girls rounding into form

When you're a team lacking an explosive offence, keeping games to low scores is vital to succeed.

Fortunately for the Muskie girls' soccer team, they've done that—although it hasn't translated into very many wins so far this season.

Head coach Sara Roach is pleased with how her young squad has competed and is hopeful the victories will start to come.

Solid day for soccer teams

It was a successful day for the Muskie boys' and girls' soccer teams yesterday in Dryden.

The boys' squad nabbed a pair of 2-1 wins over the host Eagles and Kenora Broncos to improve their NorWOSSA record to 3-0-1.

Sully Shortreed and Cam Lidkea netted the goals in the morning victory against Dryden.

Mud Dogs capture first win of season

The wind was cool but the action was hot last night for the Rainy River District Women's Fastball League.

Rachelle Yeo was a star as she led the Fort Frances Mud Dogs to an 11-7 victory over the Couchiching Lady Raiders.

She earned the pitching win and also crushed a grand slam.

Heather Wright and Kaily Greengrass also hit the other home runs in the game.
