Abby Sanders, Myla Angus, and Max Williams all know a thing or two about winning.
Sanders and Angus each scored twice as the La Place Rendez-Vous U18 Voyageurs capped a sensational season with a 4-0 victory over Taggs in the women’s division final of the Borderland Soccer League last night.
The two have been part of a Muskie girls’ soccer program that has claimed the last three NorWOSSA crowns, with their efforts helping the Vous successfully defend its title from a season ago.
Bryanna Dustin, another part of the Muskie dynasty, earned the shutout for a Voyageurs team that went 14-2 during the regular season to easily finish in first place and earn a bye to last night’s final.
Jess Caul and Katie Stearns split the goalkeeping duties for Taggs, which finished third in the regular season at 4-12 but upset second-place Al’s Racquet Stringing with a 4-3 comeback victory in Tuesday’s semi-final.
Meanwhile, Williams netted a pair of markers to lift third-place International Travel Services to a 3-1 win over fourth-place Pharmasave to lock up the men’s division title.
Williams never failed to win a NorWOSSA boys’ soccer title throughout his just-completed Muskie career.
Lucas Koomans also scored while Ben Whitburn earned the win in goal for ITS, which beat defending champion Manitou Forest Products in the semi-finals.
Tyler Fitzgerald had the lone goal for Pharmasave, who upset the first-place Voyageurs in their semi-final showdown.
