Just a reminder that “Holly Daze” festivities will take place Dec. 1-2 in Emo.

Along with a bevy of Christmas sales at local stores, draws will be held at several locations and much more.

The Emo Legion also will have its soup-and-bun luncheon on both days.

But the highlight probably is the parade on the Friday night!

Be sure to take part in this event with your family and friends.

The Municipality of La Vallee once again is staging a community Christmas party, which this year is scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 10 at the Devlin Hall.

The day starts at 3:30 p.m. Please bring cards, games, toboggans, or anything you would like to add to the fun of the day.

A potluck supper then will be served at 5 p.m., followed by a sing-along of Christmas carols.

The day will be capped off with a visit from Santa, who will have a treat bag for all the kids on hand.

Congratulations to Leo Pruys, who turned 60 last week.

Also turning 60 on Saturday was Greg McKay, who was the janitor at Crossroads School for many years.

He recently changed job locations.

Maureen Rose was honoured for her 24 years of service at Rainycrest during a CUPE party held Saturday night.

I would like to make a correction in my last week's column, where there was a mistake in names.

The item should have read: Congratulations to Dayna Romyn and Travis MacIntyre on the birth of their son, Jace Arthur, on Saturday, Nov. 11, weighing eight pounds, nine oz.

Proud grandparents are Darryl and Charlene Romyn and Art MacIntyre, along with great-grandmother, Nellie Romyn.

Robin's 2¢:

I tried the Japanese method of de-cluttering—where you hold every object that you own and if it doesn't bring you joy, you throw it away.

So far I've thrown our all the vegetables, my bra, the hydro bill, the mirror and scale, and my treadmill.
