The 31st-annual La Place Rendez-Vous squash tournament is set to take place this weekend at the Memorial Sports Centre here.
Club president Bob Tkachuk said 55 players, including 14 juniors, are scheduled to take part in the tournament, which runs Friday through Sunday.
Divisions include men's 'A,' 'B,' and 'C/D,' as well as ladies' 'B/C' and juniors.
Tkachuk believes the competition level will be good at the tournament.
“[It] will be extremely competitive with two top-10 Winnipeg players in Peter Russel and Benjamin Andrusco vying for top honours against many-time former champion Shine from Thunder Bay and former Fort junior standout Anniss Seid, amongst others,” he enthused.
Action gets underway Friday at 4 p.m. and run all day Saturday.
The finals will start at 8 a.m. on Sunday and run until 4 p.m.
Tkachuk said admission is free, with spectators welcome to watch some great squash action.
