Star Muskie running back Sekina Scheibler still is reaping the benefits of an impressive season.

The WHSFL recently named him to the Team Steeves roster (Vincent Massey Brandon) for the league's Senior Bowl, which is slated for May 26 at 2 p.m. at Investors Group Field in Winnipeg.

Fans can get tickets to the game from the players or for $6 at the gate.

Scheibler had a tremendous season last fall for the Muskies, leading the Andy Currie Division ('A') in rushing yards (1,787) while also recording the second-most touchdowns (13) and total points (78).

He also was presented with the Elite Performance Center Offensive Player of the Year award for the Currie Division at the WHSFL's annual awards banquet in Winnipeg back in December.

The Borderland Racing Association has announced it is pushing its season start date back two weeks as there still is a lot of work to do at the Emo Speedway, including yard work, painting, and installing new lights.

The one-day opener now is scheduled for Saturday, May 26 (weather permitting), with racing slated to begin at 7:30 p.m.

It will be a regular race night.

Also announced on the Emo Speedway's Facebook page were work bee dates for April 29, May 6, May 13, and May 20.

“We need everyone that is available," the post reads. ”Lots of work to do.

“Painters, electricians, carpenters, and anyone that likes entertainment, we need you.”

All dates will have a barbecue dinner provided.

As well, transponders still are being figured out as the association's website currently is down and the board is working on this.

Volunteers for the season-opener also are urged to contact the Emo Speedway with what jobs they would like to do.

All regular drivers need to provide two nights per month to volunteer.
