Soccer playoffs set to get underway

Make way for the post-season!

The Borderland Soccer League men's division playoffs is set to kick off tonight in what should be some hotly contested action.

Second-place CJ Contracting will host last-place Manitou in a two-game total-goals semi-final that will conclude tomorrow night.

The winner of the semi-final then will advance to face first-place Centra Pipelines in next week's two-game total-goals final that will run on Monday and Tuesday (Aug. 12-13).

In women's division action, meanwhile, La Place Rendez-Vous and Al's Racquet Stringing were slated to clash for the final time in the regular season last night, with the outcome not known as of press time.

The two squads then will square off in a winner-takes-all championship final next Tuesday (Aug. 13).

All playoff games will start at 6:30 p.m. at the St. Francis Sports Field (weather permitting).
