The Muskie girls' hockey team continues to roll this season.
Captain Annalise “CC" Hayes scored twice as the Muskies won round one of their annual "Border Battle” against the International Falls Broncos with a 3-1 victory here Friday night.
Hayes opened the scoring nearly midway through the first period, sending a flurry of teddy bears onto the ice as part of the team's annual “Teddy Bear Toss.”
It was the fourth-straight year that Hayes has scored the opening goal in such games.
Khali Degagne extended the Muskies' lead to 2-0 in the second.
Hayes scored her second of the game in the third—going end-to-end for a beautiful goal to make it 3-0.
Morgan Rasmussen spoiled Kamryn Sandelovich's shutout bid with a third-period tally.
The Broncos will host round two on Feb. 3.
The Muskie girls return to action this Wednesday night when they head to Dryden to face the Eagles.
