All good things must come to an end, which the Muskie girls' hockey team found out last night.
The Muskies (4-0-1) suffered their first loss of the NorWOSSA regular season after falling 5-4 in overtime to the host Dryden Eagles.
Jessica Steele opened the scoring for the Muskies just 6:32 into the opening period.
Dryden responded at 7:10 with the equalizer off the stick of Zoe Lynch.
Muskie captain Annalise (CC) Hayes gave the Muskies a 2-1 lead at 11:16 before Siobhan MacKintosh made it 3-1 at 15:30.
The Eagles trimmed the lead to 3-2 when Cali Lappage netted her first of the night on a power play at 17:48.
She then tied the game in the second period, tallying at 11:30 while the Eagles were on a two-man advantage.
The Muskies went back on top when Lillie MacKinnon tallied unassisted at 7:17 of the third.
But Dryden tied the game once again on Lindy Leclerc's goal at 12:08.
With the game going to a five-minute, 4-on-4 overtime, Payton Boyko notched the game-winner with 2:33 left in the extra frame.
Kamryn Sandelovich suffered her first loss of the season between the pipes.
The Muskies are back in action this Monday (Dec. 11) when they host those same Eagles at 7:30 p.m. at the Emo/La Vallee Community Centre.
