Muskie boys still seeking consistency

Although his squad snagged a pair of wins over the Kenora Broncos within a three-day span last week, Muskie boys' hockey team head coach Jordan Sinclair is hoping his charges can start to play with more consistency.

The black-and-gold improved their NorWOSSA record to 4-2 following a 6-3 win Thursday night in Kenora and then a 3-1 victory here Saturday night.

“I thought we played a real good game up in Kenora and we controlled the play,” Sinclair recalled.

“I thought [at home] we got fortunate," he admitted. ”We didn't have our best game and took way too many penalties, and our P.K. did a good job to kinda bail us out.

“For us, I would like to start seeing a lot more consistency in our game and playing the way we want to play,” Sinclair stressed.

“So that is where it has to start and then hopefully [we'll] start getting healthy and getting bodies back, which will also make a big difference.”

The Muskies resumed NorWOSSA action last night against the St. Thomas Aquinas Saints (Kenora) at the Ice For Kids Arena, with the outcome not known as of press time.

Then they'll head to International Falls on Friday to play the Broncos in the first of their annual two-game “Border Battle” exhibition series.
