Dylan Kooner decided he had had enough drama for one night.
Kooner took only 37 seconds to net the game-winner in overtime as the Fort Frances Lakers edged the Minnesota Iron Rangers 3-2 here Tuesday night.
The Lakers (10-2) won their third-straight game in comeback style, with Dylan Robertson deflecting Robbie Bonthron’s shot with 5:24 left in the third to knot the score.
Bonthron then assisted on Kooner’s winning goal.
Carter Chorney had the other goal for the Lakers, who have won all four games against Minnesota (6-7-2) so far this season.
Brock James and Josh Gouin, a former Laker and Muskie, replied for the Iron Rangers, who led 2-1 until Robertson’s equalizer in the waning minutes.
Lakers’ goalie Pierce Dushenko, named the SIJHL’s player-of-the-week on Monday, kicked out 33 shots to get the win.
Alex Burke made 30 stops for Minnesota.
The Lakers next hit the road for a two-game swing starting tomorrow against the Dryden GM Ice Dogs (8-3-1), who sit in second place three points back.
Then it’s off to Thunder Bay for a clash with the last-place North Stars (5-8-0-1) on Saturday.
The Lakers next play at home Nov. 7 against Thunder Bay.
