The Couchiching Lady Raiders have started to heat up in the Rainy River District Women's Fastball League.
In a high-scoring affair Monday night, the Lady Raiders topped the Fort Frances Angels 19-18 to nab their second-straight win.
Steph Lagree earned the pitching win while Riley Redford was tagged with the loss.
MVP honours went to Lagree (Couchiching) and Avery Sivonen (Angels).
That was the lone game to be played Monday night as the threat of bad weather forced the postponement of the Dawson Tigers at Fort Frances Mud Dogs, Manitou T-Birdies at Red Gut Babes, and Fort Frances Her-ricanes at Big Grassy Lynx.
Those games will be rescheduled for later in the season.
Meanwhile, the Sabaskong Tebinaak were forced to forfeit their game to the Northwest Bay Beavers as they couldn't field a team.
The Emo Renegades had the bye Monday night.
In action last Wednesday night, Kaily Grengrass homered as the Mud Dogs won their sixth-straight game with a 15-5 rout over the Lynx.
Rachelle Yeo earned the win while Candice Handorgan suffered the loss.
MVP honours went to Greengrass (Mud Dogs) and Handorgan (Lynx).
Marissa Carey picked up the win as the Her-ricanes cruised to a 13-5 victory over Sabaskong.
Devon Kelly was tagged with the loss while the MVPs were Carey (Her-ricanes) and Savannah White (Tebinaak).
The Emo Renegades pulled out a 12-10 win against Red Gut.
Karma Andy had the win, with Tracy Morningstar taking the loss.
The MVPs were Mykenzie Borger (Renegades) and Beulah Chartrand (Babes).
The Lady Raiders downed the T-Birdies 12-8 as Grace Bragg nabbed the win while Summer Leonard was the losing pitcher.
MVP honours went to Katie Mowe (Lady Raiders) and Kayla Allan (T-Birdies).
Finally, the Beavers doubled the Tigers 6-3 as Darcy Smith garnered the win while Shelby Nosan took the loss.
The MVPs were Teresa Smith (Beavers) and Taylor Sears (Tigers).
The Angels had the bye that night.
Tonight's games, which all start at 6:30 p.m. (weather permitting), will see the Her-ricanes battling the Babes, the Beavers facing the Mud Dogs, Sabaskong looking to tame the Tigers, the Angels heading to Big Grassy, and the Renegades squaring off against the T-Birdies.
