La Belle's tourney yet another success

Birch Point Camp help its annual one-day bass tournament.

Forty six teams competed this year.

Placing first place was the team of Dan Tucker and Jason Cain, who took home $3,000.

Second place was won by by the father-son duo of Leroy and Mike Wilson, who pocketed $1,500.

Third place went to Tony and Marc Jackson, another father-son team, who went home with $1,000.

The biggest fish caught Saturday was 5.06 lbs caught by first-place winners Don Tucker and Jason Cain.

Ralph and Scott Galusha were the winners of the hidden weight with 10.36 lbs.

Hats of the Dale La Belle and his crew of dedicated staff and volunteers that hold this tournament every year.

Congratulations to Dayna Romyn and Travis McIntyre. The couple were wed Saturday in Banff, Alta.

Proud parents are Char and Darryl Romyn, Art MacIntyre, and great-grandma, Nell Romyn.

Bingo started on Oct. 1 at the Emo Legion and will be played every Tuesday night.

Doors open at 6 p.m.; early bird game is played at 6:30.

Cribbage is played Wednesday night at the Legion from 7-9 p.m.

The cost is $5 and includes a light lunch

Congratulations to June Mose Haver on her recent promotion.

June is now the branch manager at Alterna Savings (formerly known as the Fort Frances Credit Union).

June has been employed at the credit union for 25 years. She started there after graduating from high school.

I mentioned last week that the Emo Food Bank is looking for plastic bags.

The hours of the food bank are from 1-3 p.m. every third Wednesday of the month.

Please drop bags of at that time.

Women may be surprised to learn that making their husbands sleep on the couch isn't that bad.

It's kinda manly—they feel like they are camping out, with a really angry bear nearby.
