A Sault Ste. Marie man has been fined $1,000 for failing to attach a game seal to a deer.
David Burmaster pleaded guilty to failing to immediately attach his game seal to a white-tailed deer.
Court heard that on Oct. 23, a conservation officer on patrol on Clearwater Lake Road in Fort Frances District observed two men wearing hunter orange walking across a hydro corridor.
The officer contacted the men and discovered an untagged white-tailed deer that had been dragged from the original kill site in the direction of the men's vehicle, which was parked at the edge of the hydro corridor.
Burmaster claimed responsibility for the deer, which subsequently was forfeited to the Crown.
Justice of the Peace Pat Clysdale-Cornell heard the case May 26 in Fort Frances.
