Jenna Walsh's third provincial women's curling title will have to wait at least one more year.
The Devlin native played second for Sudbury's Tracy Fleury at the Scotties provincials in Nipigon, who wound up losing 10-7 to defending champ Krista McCarville (Thunder Bay) in Saturday's final.
McCarville led 7-3 after eight ends before Fleury bounced back with three in the ninth.
But her steal effort in the 10th fell by the wayside when Fleury was heavy on a draw with her last rock—allowing McCarville to score three.
McCarville now will represent Northern Ontario at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts national championship Feb. 18-26 in St. Catharines.
Fleury was at 5-0 before losing 5-4 to McCarville in the first of two games against each other Saturday.
The two already had clinched a spot in the final ahead of Thunder Bay rinks skipped by Fort Frances native Hailey Beaudry (1-4), with ex-Muskie teammate Erin Tomalty of Nestor Falls at lead, and Larissa Mikkelson (0-5).
Team Fleury won the Ontario title in 2012, then became the first Northern Ontario rep at the nationals in 2015.
