A Kenora man has been fined $750 for taking his truck into a provincial park.
Daniel Prouty pleaded guilty and was fined $750 for taking his truck into Turtle River-White Otter Lake Provincial Park, a remote wilderness park with limited access, to get to Dibble Lake.
Prouty's authorization to cache a boat on Dibble Lake subsequently has been cancelled by Ontario Parks, Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry.
Court heard that back on June 26, Prouty drove his truck down a trail designated for ATVs and foot traffic to access a boat cache on Dibble Lake, southeast of Ignace.
Signs posted near the trail identify it as part of the park and also inform the public that trucks are not permitted.
Justice of the Peace Daisy Hoppe heard the case Feb. 8 in Dryden.
