Court teams split


The Muskie junior girls' basketball team kept up their winning ways yesterday in Kenora.

The black-and-gold romped to a 49-22 win over the host Broncos to improve to 5-0 in NorWOSSA play.

Grace Petsnick led the way with 12 points while 10 others Muskies got in on the scoring.

But the woes continued for the senior squad as the fell 34-24 to the Broncos to drop to 0-5.

J. Westover had eight points to top Fort High.

In boys' volleyball action yesterday, the juniors dropped the opening set 25-20 to the Broncos but then took the next three by scores of 25-17, 25-23, and 25-18 to win the match.

The squad leads the three-team league with a 4-1 record.

It was a different story for the Muskie seniors, however, as they fell 3-1 to the host Broncos.

Kenora took the first two sets by scores of 25-22 and 25-16 before the Muskies rallied to win the third one 28-26.

But the black-and-gold couldn't keep the momentum going in losing the fourth set 25-12.

The seniors sit in second place in the standings at 2-3.
