The Atlantic Coast Conference announced its 2017-18 All-ACC Academic Swimming and Diving Teams last Thursday.
Florida State landed a total of 10 student-athletes on both the men's and women's squads.
Among those named to the women's squad was Fort Frances native Molly Carlson, which was her second career nod.
“We hold our student-athletes to a high standard here at Florida State,” FSU head coach Neal Studd said in a press release.
“I am very proud of these kids for achieving excellence in and out of the pool this season,” he added.
Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career.
“Our divers have always put in the work in the classroom,” said FSU head diving coach John Proctor.
“They understand they're students first and they put forth a tremendous effort to be successful in the classroom in addition to diving,” he noted.
Athletic achievements during the most recent season also are considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.
The ACC Honour Roll, which recognizes all conference student-athletes with a G.P.A. of 3.0 for the current academic year, will be released in July.
