Bantam Leafs nab title


It was a perfect weekend for the Bantam Leafs of the Fort Frances Girls'/Women's Hockey Association.

The squad won all three of its games, then earned a 3-2 victory over East Grand Forks in the championship game to claim the Grand Forks 15U tourney title.

Issy Taylor scored the first and third goals of the game while Tatum Glowasky notched the second one.

Isabella Fortes earned the win between the pipes.

The Bantam Leafs opened play with a 7-6 shootout win over the BW Blades.

Abbie Kenny led the way with a hat trick while Glowasky, Ashlyn Beck, Taylor, and Paiten Kinnear also scored.

Jersey Masson got the win in goal.

The second game saw the Bantam Leafs grab a 3-2 shootout win over the Winnipeg Storm.

Taylor and Kathryn Fischer scored during regulation time before Kenny tallied the shootout winner.

Fortes recorded the win while Masson handled the shooters in the shootout.

The Bantam Leafs then cruised to an 8-2 win over Grand Forks in their third game.

Glowasky and Piper Cross both scored twice while Fischer, Kenny, Samantha Kelly, and Savannah McGinnis added singles.

Masson garnered the win in goal.
