Murray Armstrong pitched a perfect game to pace the Sight & Sound Wolves (6-4) to a 14-0 win over the Sabaskong Goldeneyes in Rainy River District Fastball League action on Tuesday night.
Cole Beacham suffered the loss for the Goldeneyes (2-7).
In other action on Tuesday, the Barwick Blue Knights nabbed their sixth win of the season with a 9-5 decision over Windey's Warriors.
Brandan Pratt garnered the win for the Blue Knights (6-4) over Rob McGinnis of the Warriors (5-5).
After starting the season 0-8, the Northwest Bay Chieftains picked up their second win in a row with a 9-6 victory over the Dawson Tigers.
Don Smith nabbed the win for the Chieftains (2-8) while Mitch Seguin was saddled with the loss for Dawson (6-5).
And the Rainy River Royals eked out a 7-6 win over the Manitou Thunderbirds.
Myron Armstrong earned the win for the Royals (6-4) over Burt Woods of the Thunderbirds (2-8).
The Sabaskong Lakers (4-5) at Fort Frances Braves (9-0) game was postponed and has been rescheduled for July 18.
The Stratton Eagles (5-5) at Couchiching Raiders (6-4) game also was postponed and will be rescheduled for later in the season.
The RRDFL's annual all-star game is slated for tonight, with the East Division taking on the West Division at 7 p.m. at the Manitou Ball Park (weather permitting).
Making up the East roster are Jaden Gustafson (Braves), Travis Tom (Braves), Ben Smith (Chieftains), Chris Morrisseau (Raiders), Marcel Pagee (Warriors), Rob McGinnis (Warriors), Aaron Caul (Wolves), John Desaulniers (Wolves), Cole Tymkin (Braves), Cole Calder, Charlie Debungee, and Brandon McGinnis (Braves).
The West roster is comprised of Jeff Morrison (Thunderbirds), Matt Godin (Tigers), Guy Arpin (Eagles), Mike Anderson (Blue Knights), Kevin Gemmell (Tigers), Jackson Arpin (Eagles), Brandon Pratt (Blue Knights), Cole Allan, Darryl Beacham (Goldeneyes), JJ Landry (Blue Knights), James Yerxa (Lakers), Kyle Copenace (Lakers), Tom Armstrong, Joe Jolicouer (Blue Knights), and Carl Big George (Tigers).
Second-round league play then is slated to begin on Tuesday (July 2).
In Rainy River District Women's Fastball League action last night, meanwhile, Shelby Tymkin pitched well to lead the Fort Frances Mud Dogs (4-4-2) to a convincing win over the Manitou T-Birdies in make-up game for the one that was postponed back on June 12.
Angel Medicine was tagged with the loss for the T-Birdies (1-9).
The Big Grassy Lynx (5-4-1) were awarded a 7-0 forfeit win against the Sabaskong Tebinaak (1-8) for the game that was postponed back on June 5.
There will be no games on Monday due to the Canada Day holiday. Second-round league play is slated to begin next Wednesday (July 3).
