Mother's Day weekend was a fun-filled weekend with Rainy River hosting a 5K family run/walk.
Rainy River Recreation Centre teamed up with Métis Nation of Ontario and local physiotherapist Curtis Taylor to organize a family run/walk throughout the town.
The event was free to all who wanted to join and each participant received a swag bag, muffins and water which they enjoyed while taking in the view of the Rainy River at Hannam Park when the run was complete.
The event had 26 participants which exceeded organizers expectations.
“This was such a success and I'm happy that so many people came out and enjoyed this despite the chilly weather this morning,” said recreation director Jenna Yeo.
Rainy River Best Start HUB also worked with organizers and had children's activities at the finish line.
“Thank you so much for organizing this. I hope it happens again in the future,” said a participant as they crossed the finish line with their child.
