Brendon Loney and Chad Jack of the Borderland Snowmobile Club were out Monday just outside of Emo trying to pack some swamps and fill in a few creeks to get a base ready to groom for the season. Once they get the big swamp outside of Fort Frances packed with lighter snowmachines, the club will be able to start grooming the trail system as new snow falls. Trails will be open once we get a few cold days and a little more snow for one of the earliest starts to the season. Volunteers groom about 40-100 hours per week throughout the season to keep the roughly 450-km trail network in top shape.
