After performing the last surgery of his 38-year career last Wednesday, Dr. Jas Spencer was greeted in the cafeteria at La Verendrye Hospital with a small staff celebration. Here, he shared a few words about the importance of enjoying one’s occupation and teamwork among hospital staff. Dr. Spencer, who officially retires at the end of this month, will be honoured at a dinner this Saturday, as well as at come-and-go teas at the hospital on Feb. 16 and the clinic on Feb. 21.
