Ojibwe carols

Ojibwe carolers

Peggy Revell

Students from St. Francis School performed a number of Christmas carols in Anishinaabemowin for the seniors at Rainycrest yesterday afternoon as a way to give back to the elders in the community in the Ojibwe language. Students had been busy practising the carols with the help of Mrs. Jourdain, Mrs. Bruyere, and Mrs. Supinski from Our Lady of Lourdes Church at Couchiching, with Amy LaFroy, Catholic co-ordinator from the board office, volunteering to play the piano as accompaniment.
