Pioneer Player Fern Perkins spoke to students at Robert Moore School yesterday about the life of her ancestor, Isabella Mainville, who lived here in the early 1800s, as well as the history of the Métis people. Perkins is making her way to several schools this week, and also will tell “Our Local Métis Story: The Early Years” this Thursday (April 18) at the Métis Hall here. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., with a soup supper at 6 p.m. and the program to follow. Tickets, available at the door, cost $5 for adults while children 12 and under are free. “Our Local Métis Story” also is the subject of the main exhibit right now at the Fort Frances Museum.
