Connie Cuthbertson, left, and Doug Anderson, stood proudly by the new “The Great Canadian Main Street” sign, which was erected Thursday on the 100 block of Scott Street. The sign, designed by Cuthbertson and made by Burton Penner of Vermilion Bay, was an initiative of the Downtown Core Committee and pursued with the full support of Scott Street businesses. The sign was funded through FedNor, and is, in fact, only the first of three that will be put up here to encourage tourists to stop in downtown Fort Frances. The signs are considered the first step in a greater campaign to “brand” the downtown core.
