Day of Remembrance

Photo Album:

Anne-Marie Armstrong of the Sunset Country Métis lit a candle during the annual service marking the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women on Tuesday evening at Knox United Church here. The candlelight vigil honoured the 14 women killed 27 years ago in what has become known as the “Montreal Massacre,” as well as local women who have lost their lives at the hands of gender violence. It was organized by Rainy River District Victim Services, UNFC, Sunset Country Métis, the Rights Relations Circle, and Knox Outreach Program.
