Crystal structures

Tianna Veldhuisen compared her crystal structure to a piece of halite, a mineral form of sodium chloride (also commonly known as rock salt) during the Mining Matters workshop this morning, while fellow participant Caitlin Rittau looked on. The free seminar, sponsored by Rainy River Resources, provided an in-class day for adults yesterday at Confederation College here, while today’s session focused on teaching youths about geology. Tomorrow both groups will join together for a visit to the company’s exploration site north of Barwick.
