Carpentry camp

Photo Album:

Fort Frances High School teacher Vince Gouin, above, gave some helpful hints and tips to a couple of students during the Confederation College carpentry camp held last week at the high school. Gouin said that through the summer camp, as well as his Grade 10-12 classes, he's not trying to turn anyone into a carpenter—he wants students to take away skills and knowledge of woodwork, creativity and the machinery that will assist them later in life, such as making repairs or building a fence.

At right, Emitt McCrory, left, and Damien Kuoppa-Aho showed off the progress they'd made on their projects.
