‘Mon beau drapeau’

Photo Album:

Fort Frances CAO Doug Brown, left, clerk Lisa Slomke, and bylaw enforcement officer Patrick Briere held the Franco-Ontarian flag this morning to commemorate Franco-Ontarian Day in the Town of Fort Frances, as per the request of the Association des francophones du Nord-Ouest de l’Ontario (AFNOO). The occasion is being marked in 16 cities and towns across the region. Sept. 25 was designated as Franco-Ontarian Day in May, 2010 when Queen’s Park enacted the Franco-Ontarian Day Act. This date was chosen because it is the anniversary of the first unveiling of the Franco-Ontarian flag in Sudbury back in 1975.
