Monika Huminuk, right, executive director of the Rainy River District Victim Services Program, looked on as Thunder Bay-Rainy River MP Ken Boshcoff, a longtime RRDVSP supporter, cut the ribbon to kick off the inaugural “Dash & Dine” yesterday afternoon on Scott Street. A total of 55 volunteers and participants walked and ran to the waterfront and back, raising about $1,500 for the program. The dash was followed by a dinner at La Place Rendez-Vous to recognize RRDVSP founders and volunteers. Guest speaker was Melissa McCormick, a Windsor, Ont. woman who told her story of how she recovered from a vicious attack 30 years ago to now lead a happy life.
