The Fort Frances Canadians will leave Thunder Bay today feeling like they were struck by lightning.
With one game left, the Canadians were at the bottom of the standings with an 0-5 record at the 2017 Ontario Hockey Federation and Central Region Bantam ‘AAA’ Hockey Championship.
They already have been eliminated from playoff contention.
Following an opening loss Monday, the Canadians endured double trouble Tuesday in losing 8-2 to the York-Simcoe Express and 10-1 to the Toronto Marlboros.
Braden Bodnarchuk and Ben Hackl scored against the Express while Mason Vogrig took the loss between the pipes.
Bodnarchuk netted the lone marker against the Marlboros, with Isaac Fagnilli getting tagged with the defeat.
Yesterday, the Canadians fell 4-1 to the Ottawa Jr. 67s and then 8-2 to the host Thunder Bay Kings.
Kaleb Bruyere scored against the 67s, with Vogrig back in goal.
Dylan Winsor had both tallies versus the Kings, with Fagnilli guarding the net.
The Canadians played their last game of the tournament earlier today against the Cambridge Hawks (score unavailable at press time).
