Spots still open for free 'paint night'

Category:

An outdoor “paint night” with award-winning local artist Cher Pruys is slated for tomorrow evening at the Rainy Lake Square.

The free event will run from 6-8 p.m. and no painting experience is necessary, noted Natasha Gaudio, economic development co-ordinator with the Rainy River Future Development Corp.

“We're going to have a relaxing evening painting outdoors,” she remarked.

“Cher will offer her expertise and painting materials are provided.”

Flint House will be on-site with a pop-up wine bar, where guests can purchase a glass to enjoy while painting, Gaudio added.

Those interested must R.S.V.P. to Gaudio at 274-9621 or via e-mail at natasha@rrfdc.on.ca prior to 4 p.m. tomorrow (Thursday).

Remember to bring a lawn chair as seating at the square is limited.

In related news, the first outdoor movie night at the square on Friday had to be cancelled due to rain.

Instead, Steven Spielberg's family-friendly classic “E.T.” will be screened later this summer after school is out, Gaudio said.

However, another movie night will be held at the square on Thursday, May 31.

The free movie—featuring the 1975 shark thriller “Jaws,” will start around 9 p.m. (coinciding with the sunset).
