Pair nabbed

On Oct. 7 around 5:10 p.m., members of the Rainy River District OPP were dispatched to a call of a possible impaired driver at a local restaurant drive-thru.

An officer attended the scene and located the suspect vehicle in the parking lot.

The member spoke with the driver, whom he suspected had alcohol in his body.

The male subsequently was arrested and transported to the Fort Frances OPP detachment, where he underwent further testing.

As a result, a 24-year-old Naotkamegwanning First Nation man was charged with care or control of a motor vehicle while impaired and care or control of a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol level over .08 mg.

He was released on a promise to appear in court Nov. 5.

Meanwhile, on Oct. 5 around 2:45 a.m., police were dispatched to a call of a possible impaired driver at the Canada Border Services Agency in Fort Frances.

A male subsequently was arrested and transported to the Fort Frances OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result, a 45-year-old Fort Frances man was charged with driving with a blood alcohol level over .08 mg.

He was released on a promise to appear in court Oct. 29.
