One-man show to hit stage here

Weechi-it-te-win Family Services' youth in transition program is proud to announce that Waawaate Fobister will be performing his award-winning, one-man show, “Agokwe.”

It is a play that promotes respect and understanding for youth that identity as two-spirited or LGBTQ.

Fobister, of Grassy Narrows First Nation, will be performing a raw version of “Agokwe—Shapeshifting in the spirit of Nanabush” at the Townshend Theatre on Friday, Feb. 17 at 7 p.m. and again Saturday, Feb. 18 at 2 p.m.

Admission is free but tickets are required.

Fobister also will visit local high schools to perform his shapeshifting workshop with students.
