Lakers’ games postponed

Staff

Bus issues for both teams forced the postponement of the Lakers’ home-and-home series against the Dryden GM Ice Dogs that had been scheduled for Friday and Saturday nights.
Make-up dates for each will be announced by the SIJHL once they are finalized.
The fifth-place Lakers (12-21-1-1) resume action tomorrow when they head to the Hoyt Lakes Arena to compete at the SIJHL’s annual “Showcase.”
This year’s “Showcase” will feature three games per day, with each one counting in the league standings as teams battle for playoff positioning.
The Lakers will face the top-ranked Thunder Bay North Stars (29-2-1-1) tomorrow at 1 p.m. before wrapping up the “Showcase” against the host Minnesota Iron Rangers (3-33-0-0) the following day at 7:30 p.m.
Fort Frances then will have a road game in Thief River Falls against the third-place Norskies (21-12-3-1) on Friday night before welcoming the second-place Red Lake Miners (24-12-2-0) on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the Ice For Kids Arena.
