Gauthier named Riverside COO

Press Release

Riverside Health Care is pleased to announce Henry Gauthier as its executive vice-president and Chief Operating Officer (EVP and COO).

The EVP and COO position is accountable for the day to day operations, including integration, alignment and development of programs in collaboration with directors.

As an accountant (CPA, CGA) with extensive business training, Gauthier has over 25 years of progressively advanced health care experience and brings a wealth of knowledge to this new role.

He most recently served as Riverside’s VP Operations and CFO for four and a half years and has completed the Rotman School of Management Executive Programs Advanced Health Leadership Program at the University of Toronto.

In 2017, he completed the AdvantAge Ontario LTC Administrators course, and with the vacancy of the Rainycrest administrator he was an instrumental part in leading the home on the path to compliance and reopening this past March.

Ted Scholten, Riverside’s president and CEO, said he is pleased to welcome Gauthier into this executive position on the leadership team.

“I believe Henry’s strong team-building, management experience and his in-depth knowledge are ideally suited for this role,” he noted.

“As a strategic planner and thinker, Henry will be effective in establishing the foundations required to implement Riverside’s corporate strategies and direction,” added Scholten.

“This will allow Riverside to continue to deliver its programs and services while continuously striving for better quality care when responding to the needs of our communities.”

The EVP and COO is directly responsible for planning and directing all aspects of Riverside’s operational policies, objectives and initiatives.

To this end, the EVP and COO will focus on the ongoing, day-to-day management of the organization’s business model and internal processes to ensure maximum effectiveness.

This position reports directly to the CEO, and is responsible for overall operations across the continuum of our hospitals, long-term care and community services.

The EVP and COO has the responsibility for planning, organizing, directing, managing, and evaluating the management of all leadership positions, focusing on achievement of organizational goals in keeping with Riverside’s strategic direction, and its mission vision and values of the organization.
