Family Day events will be taking place in municipalities across the district this Monday (Feb. 20).
Here in town, activities will take place at the Fort Frances Public Library Technology Centre.
They include family magnet-making from 10:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Drop in anytime with a picture of your family to create a unique magnet.
Family games also will take place from 10:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., with the movie “Beauty and the Beast” being shown at 2 p.m.
These events are all free.
In Alberton, the rec committee is planning a Winter Family Fun Day on Monday at the Millennium Park (located at the intersection of Hill Road and Hall Road just north of Superior Propane).
Events begin at 2 p.m. and will include games, activities, prizes, and giveaways.
There also will be hotdogs, hot chocolate, marshmallows, and a roaring bonfire.
Emo, meanwhile, will be hosting events upstairs at the Emo Arena, starting with a pancake breakfast from 9-10:30 a.m.
A donation bucket will be set up for guests to pay what they can.
A Family Photo Scavenger Hunt also will take place from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Lists can be picked up upstairs in the arena anytime after 9 a.m., then participants will use their own devices (i.e., phone, camera) to take pictures of as many items on the list as they can.
Return to the arena to have the photos checked by 12:30 p.m. to be entered into a draw for a Family Game Night Party Pack.
As well, the first 75 youth participants to return will receive a treat bag sponsored by the Emo Drugs.
And in Stratton, Family Day activities will take place at the rec centre from 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m.
There will be both indoor and outdoor activities, including a bonfire, snowshoeing, curling, a fire truck appearance, and a hot lunch.
