On Aug. 4 around 2:50 p.m., a member of the Atikokan OPP conducted a vehicle stop on O'Brien Street in Atikokan.
The officer had a conversation with the driver and this led him to believe she had been consuming alcohol.
As a result, she was arrested and transported to the Atikokan OPP detachment, where she underwent further tests.
A subsequent investigation revealed other charges were warranted.
As a result, a 58-year-old Atikokan woman was charged with impaired driving and driving a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol level over 0.08 mg.
She also was charged with taking a motor vehicle without consent.
The woman was released on a promise to appear in court in Atikokan on Oct. 3.
