Yesterday around 11:20 a.m., members of the Rainy River District OPP were dispatched to a 9-1-1 call of a robbery in progress at a local business.
The suspect was wielding a weapon at the time of the robbery.
All available officers immediately attended the area of the business and conducted patrols for the suspect.
He was located by officers a short distance from the business, where he was taken into custody.
No one was injured during the robbery.
A 29-year-old Fort Frances man was charged with robbery with weapon, possession of property obtained by crime, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
The accused was being held in custody pending a bail hearing here today.
As well, members of the Rainy River District OPP were called to a Fort Frances restaurant on May 23 in response to a call of a break-and-enter.
Further on June 6, members of the Rainy River District OPP were called to investigate another break-and-enter at the same restaurant.
As a result of the investigation, a 20-year-old Fort Frances man was charged with two counts of break and enter to commit an indictable offence.
He was released on a promise to appear in court, which is scheduled for July 17 here.
