The crew of “Fool’s Gold” is hoping everyone will tune in to see the first two episodes of Season 2 when it premiers tonight at 7 p.m. on Discovery.
About 100 fans turned out to a launch party Friday night at the Copper River Inn, where they took in a pre-screening of the first two episodes.
“It’s wonderful,” Fort Frances Coun. John Albanese beamed after watching the shows.
“I didn’t know we had such talent,” he added, encouraging everyone to tune in tonight.
Joey Case, creative director and executive producer of “Fool’s Gold,” also urged people to watch.
“We really want a Season 3,” he stressed, noting there are a few ways the public can make that happen.
“If you thought that tonight was funny, if you thought what these guys are doing is meaningful or what they are doing is good, then we would love for you to comment on Facebook, comment on YouTube,” Case remarked.
“There are 17 videos and there will be more coming out each week as the show goes on,” he noted.
“If all of you comment each week, that makes huge strides for us.”
Case said people also can comment on Discovery’s website, although that process is slightly more difficult.
“If you go to www.discovery.ca and you go to the Fool’s Gold page, you have to sign in through them and then comment,” he explained.
“If you can do that, it makes a big difference for us and makes a big difference with Discovery.”
“Fool’s Gold” hit ratings paydirt in its first season—performing as the “top entertainment specialty program” in its time slot in Canada.
And Todd, Roj, “Grizz,” Jimmy, Matt, and Mikey of the Shotgun Exploration crew want to see that continue.
“We want to bring more money into this economy,” Case remarked.
“We want to do lots more in Fort Frances.”
He added anyone who liked last season is sure to enjoy Season 2 as it is a much better show this time round.
“The other thing to remember is, when we do these shows, we have to do a whole bunch of set-up in the first two episodes,” said Case.
“Although a lot of you have seen the show before, a lot of people haven’t,” he noted.
“Episode three and four and beyond—lots of fun, lots of laughs, lots of really great stuff,” Case pledged.
Back-to-back episodes of “Fool’s Gold” are set to air each Tuesday night for six weeks.
